A casement window lock is a single-point locking mechanism that secures the window sash to the frame at one location, typically operated by the window handle. A shootbolt is a multi-point locking mechanism that simultaneously extends bolts into the top and bottom of the frame when the handle is turned, providing full-perimeter locking. Shootbolt systems offer significantly higher security and weather resistance and are standard in commercial and high-specification residential window installations.

Yes. Our key-release window restrictor stays allow the window to be fully opened in an emergency by using the supplied key to release the restrictor mechanism. This design satisfies both child safety requirements — limiting normal opening to a safe ventilation gap — and fire safety regulations that require unobstructed emergency egress from occupied rooms. Restrictors without a key-release function are also available for applications where emergency egress is provided by other means.
