A frameless shower is built from tempered glass panels with no surrounding frame, so every panel is held by metal fittings. Hinges carry the door and let it swing. Glass clamps or a U-channel hold the fixed panels to walls, floor and each other. On sliding showers, rollers on a rail or tube replace hinges. A support bar keeps tall panels rigid, and handles or knobs and seals finish the door.
All parts must match the glass thickness, the layout and the finish, which is why buyers prefer one factory for the whole set.
