Hydraulic floor springs for glass, timber and uPVC doors, 75–250 kg, two-stage speed control.
Glass door hardware is the set of fittings that hangs, controls, opens and locks a frameless tempered glass door: a floor spring or pivot with top and bottom patch fittings, a door closer where a floor spring cannot be used, pull handles, glass door locks and flush bolts. HIPAD makes floor springs for doors of 75–250 kg and up to 1500 × 2600 mm, door closers for 25–110 kg doors, patch fittings and stainless steel pull handles up to 1850 mm long. Glass processors, door contractors and distributors in 60+ countries buy complete door sets or single parts from our factory.
A frameless glass door is a single sheet of tempered glass with no frame. Because the glass cannot be screwed into, every fitting clamps onto it. The most common commercial set uses a floor spring set in the floor under the door: a bottom patch fitting on the lower corner of the glass sits on the floor spring spindle, and a top patch fitting turns on a top pivot in the transom or ceiling. A pull handle goes through holes in the glass, and a lock patch or floor lock secures the door.
Where the floor cannot be cut, a door closer or a concealed frameless closer does the closing instead. The same hardware is used on shop fronts, office entrances, hotel lobbies, glass partitions and bathroom doors. In Spanish the floor spring is a bisagra hidráulica de piso ou freno hidráulico, patch fittings are zapatas ou herrajes para puerta de vidrio templado, and the door closer is a cierrapuertas.
The drawing shows a single frameless glass door on a floor spring. Each numbered part links to the HIPAD range that supplies it.

Choose a floor spring whose maximum door weight et maximum leaf size both cover your door. Tempered glass weighs about 2,5 kg par m² par millimètre: a 1000 × 2400 mm door in 12 mm glass weighs about 72 kg before fittings, so a 100–120 kg floor spring leaves a safe margin.
| Max door weight | Max door leaf (W × H) | Utilisation courante |
|---|---|---|
| 75 kg | 750 × 2100 mm | Light interior glass doors |
| 95–100 kg | 950–1000 × 2100–2200 mm | Office and bathroom glass doors |

| 180–200 kg | 1500 × 2200–2500 mm | Large entrance doors |
| 250 kg | 1500 × 2600 mm | Oversized and heavy doors |
Door closers are sized by door weight and width. HIPAD surface closers cover doors from 25 to 110 kg in square, round and triangular bodies, and concealed closers cover 35–95 kg doors. Most models are available with or without 90° hold-open.
| Door weight | Typical door width | HIPAD closer type |
|---|---|---|
| 25–45 kg | Up to about 1000 mm | Compact square or round closer |
| 45–65 kg | Up to about 1200 mm | Standard square or round closer |
